Advanced Hemostasis for Surface Wounds

BloodSTOP® is a natural, biocompatible, non-irritating, animal-free hemostatic agent which resembles traditional gauze.  Using a proprietary formulation, cotton cellulose is etherized and oxidized to make a highly absorbent, water-soluble, hemostatic matrix.  Its composition provides certain advantages for natural rapid hemostasis as well as patient comfort and improved wound management when compared with traditional adhesive bandages, sprays, chemical powder, or animal-based products.

How it Works

When applied to a wound, BloodSTOP quickly absorbs blood and other body fluids, transforms into a gel to seal the wound with a protective transparent layer, actively aids in blood coagulation, and creates an environment for wound healing.

 BloodSTOP in Dentistry

BloodSTOP® iX hemostatic matrix is ideally suited to control the significant bleeding associated with tooth extractions and other intra-oral procedures in general dentistry.  BloodSTOP iX is a sterile product ready for immediate use out of the package, and can quickly and easily be cut or packed to appropriate size to fit in tight oral spaces.  It is odorless and tasteless, making it more palatable for the patient, and is easily rinsed away with sterile water or saline solution.

For Oral Surgery

During or after oral surgeries, from wisdom tooth extractions to reconstructive surgery or implants, BloodSTOP iX provides fast-acting control of bleeding and minimizes blood loss.  Composed of etherized, oxidized, regenerated natural cellulose, BloodSTOP iX rapidly absorbs blood and transforms into a clear gel to seal the wound with a protective transparent layer, bind and activate platelets, provide support for clot formation, and create an environment for wound healing.

TECHNIQUE TIP FOR DENTISTS:  Apply BloodSTOP iX with dry instruments!  The hydrophilic properties of BloodSTOP iX will cause it to adhere to wet instruments or wet gloves, making application difficult.  If material becomes wet when placing in a tooth socket, dull rounded instruments can be used to push the material into the socket.
